Dr. Jan FAZLAGIĆ

Assistant Professor at the THE POZNAN UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS (PUE)
(PUE is the second largest business school in Poland, a state-owned University of Economics established in 1926 with nearly 20 thousand students and three faculties located in Poznan (Posen), a former capital city of Poland wit the population of 580 thousand inhabitants, situated 250 kms east of Berlin).

He was one of the first Polish scholars working in the field of knowlededge management. His firs ever Polish website on KM was published in 1998.
In his master thesis (1994) he proposed a score card for measuring intangible assets in a business organization which was very similar to the Balanced Scorecard. Kaplan and Norton were working on the same issue independently in the USA.
In 1999 he wrote a paper on the importance of intellectual work 100 years after Taylorism. Peter Drucker published a similar paper just a few months after (The Productivity of the Knowledge Worker).
In 2003 he designed and tested a management measurement tool “Measuring the Learning Organization” (published in 2004 on knowledgebaord.com).
Currently he is occupied with several project concerning KM and education, including the Polish Ministry for Higher Education project: “The quality of teacher training in Poland”.
Measurement of Intellectual Capital in public companies – from theory to practice.
His habilitation degree is expected in winter 2009.
