My research interest in education is somewhat interlinked with the two previous ones, i.e. KM and ICM. In 2001 I was invited by Prof. Andrzej Blikle to deliver a lecture on KM in CODN (Centralny Ośrodek Doskonalenia Nauczycieli) in Warsaw. During that lecture and after the discussions with the participants, I realised that there exists a large, unexplored area of KM management and, in general management in school environment. Since then I have published extensively, including nearly 90 popular science articles on KM, marketing, ICM in education. My contribution to the development of scientific knowledge, apart from the research findings from my research grants (see below) includes the implementation of tools and concepts developed in business organization into the educational/school context (for example the application of the following concepts from management science to education: the „Simple Rules” strategy, IC, KM, SCARF model, USP, flawsome brand to name just a few). In 2012 I published a book on the quality of the Polish system of in-service teacher training („Jakość szkoleń w polskiej oświacie”). The book included the research findings from a survey among teachers (participants of training courses) as a survey among teacher trainers. In 2015  I published an article on Knowledge Mobilisation in Polish system of education. I am an author of nearly 90 research papers, popular press articles and presentations on education, school management, school marketing and related topics. Between 2009-2015 I organized a series of five conferences on Innovative Management in Education (IZ). Since 2002 I have been active as a teacher Rainer at various conferences, training courses and seminars for teacher training centres across Poland (including Koszalin, Kielce, Gorzów Wlkp., Kalisz, Poznań, Warszawa, Płock, Radom, Konin, Gdańska, Leszno) and abroad (e.g.: eTwinning: Leading 21st Century Schools, Hotel Holiday Inn, Berlin International Airport, Berlin, 10-12 Nov. 2011). I am involved in the initiative called  „Kongres Obywatelski” in the field of education. I have participated in nearly 20 national and international projects related to education. I was an author of pioneering publications on the Polish market which introduced modern thinking on school management to the Polish reader (Marketingowe Zarządzanie Szkołą, CODN, Warszawa 2003; Zarządzanie wiedzą w szkole, CODN, Warszawa 2008; Marketing szkoły, Wolters Kluwer, Warszawa 2011).

In 2016-2017 I was a member of the Steering Committee and one of the key experts working on the new Law 2.0 for the Polish HE system led by dr. hab. Arkadiusz Radwan. Our project achieved the highest note from the external evaluators from the EC.

I am involved in the MESHGuides initiative. Its purpose is to support teacher professional judgement with evidence from the science of learning is an experiment in ways of supporting lifelong learning for all teachers and evidence-informed practice.  MESHGuides are updatable research summaries developed by teachers and researchers working together to support evidence-informed teaching.  I am actively involved in the development of this international project supported also by UNESCO.

In 2017 I was the head of a research project „School fo Innovators” commissioned by the Polish Ministry of Development. The empirical results were obtained from a national study commissioned by the Polish Ministry of Development in 2017. The main purpose of the study was to propose a set of measures and recommendations in regard to a national school reform development plan in Poland. The findings are useful and applicable to other jurisdictions and educational systems worldwide as they are based on universal, commonly agreed-upon concepts and theories.

I am the project leader in the project „Enhancing climate mindset in V4 countries” at the Univeristy of Warsaw financed Climate_KIC.  EIT Climate–KIC is a European knowledge and innovation community, working towards a prosperous, inclusive, climate-resilient society founded on a circular, zero-carbon economy.
